Nicolaas Mulerius Medal for Epke Zonderland

Outstanding gymnast and medical student Epke Zonderland was awarded the Nicolaas Mulerius Medal on Monday 29 October for his exceptional contributions to the University of Groningen. Zonderland took home gold from the 2012 London Olympics with a gymnastics routine that wowed the world. University of Groningen Olympians Philipine van Aanholt, Marit Dopheide and Rogier Blink were also honoured for their outstanding qualities. A plaque in their honour will be added to the Olympic Wall at the Sports Centre.
