A new prosthetic leg

The SPRINT research centre focuses on improving and restoring mobility in the elderly, which is becoming increasingly important in our ageing Western society. SPRINT also develops new prostheses. Movement scientist Esar van Hal studies the lateral balance of amputees while standing and walking. A new prosthetic device should help improve this balance.
