Anorexia as an addiction

Neurobiologist Anton Scheurink is researching the role of the brain in anorexia nervosa together with colleagues from Sweden. During the Kenniscafé ‘Eten als Vijand’ [Food is the enemy] organized by Studium Generale, he talked about the alternative and successful treatment method of the Mandometer Clinic. His message: anorexia nervosa is an addiction, and needs to be treated as such. The most important thing is to teach patients how to eat in a different way.
