Executive Board meets Nuffic’s new Director-General

14 February 2022

On 9 February rector Cisca Wijmenga and president Jouke de Vries met with Titia Bredée, the new Director-General of Nuffic (the Dutch organisation for internationalisation in education).

In an animated discussion, strategic and current themes around internationalisation and international collaboration were discussed. One of the main points that came to the table was the connection between the regional activities of the University of Groningen in the ‘Universiteit van het Noorden’ and its international ambitions in for example the European University network ENLIGHT or in Sub-Saharan Africa. Other items on the agenda were international mobility, knowledge security, a possible new Dutch knowledge development programme, and the interdisciplinary schools the university will develop.
