KEI-week 2018 is all about sustainability
Sustainability is an important part of the 50th edition of the KEI-week. All participating students will be stimulated to eat a vegetarian meal on the so called Meatless Monday. This means that approximately 6.000 freshman’s and their mentors will be eating meat free the first day of the KEI. Special vegetarian meal boxes will be offered for a reduced price by a Dutch supermarket. We estimated that because of Meatless Monday more than 8.5000 kg CO2 will be saved. This can be compared with the average emission of power usage for seven households for 1 year!
There will be several sustainable activities during the KEI-week. On Tuesday a sustainable picnic will be held in the Stadspark. The Green Office will be preparing sustainable vegetarian and vegan appetizers during the More to Explore event on Wednesday evening. The lustrum festival on Thursday is completely sustainable with for example a self-sufficient stage. The Green Office will also be at the Green Corner on the Kardinge beach on Thursday. Come by to make your own drink using different herbs or play the Energy Game organized by SAMEEN.
So this KEI-week will be filled with sustainable events. You’re welcome to visit one of the Green Office activities. For the total overview and locations have look at the timetable below.
