Colours

The colour red is one of the UG’s recognizable hallmarks. For that reason, red must feature prominently whenever the house style is used. A secondary colour palette is available to offer the possibility to develop a signature style within the UG house style and to empower communication messages.

Primary palette

The primary palette consists of red, black and white.

Use of colours

Standard rule

In addition to the colour red, colours from the secondary palette can be used, provided that:

  • red is the main colour

  • there is a white bar with a red logo at the top or bottom of the page (see example). This white bar must contain no other text or image. The other option is to extend the white bar and place the name of the organizational unit in question within it. See both examples below. In both cases, the colour red must feature in the design below the white bar.

Appearance

Communication of the UG should tell in a glance the UG is an open academic community, with a culture of making connections and working together. That goes rather with fresh ‘open’ communications than with dark colour combinations, crowded with visual elements.
