Corporate & International Affairs

The Alumni & Fundraising (A&F) department strengthens the bond between the UG and its alumni and donors. We build a global network of committed alumni and partners who contribute their time, talent and resources to the academic community and the impact of education and research.

Our work focuses on three pillars:

• Alumni policy and community: We develop and coordinate the UG-wide alumni policy in cooperation with faculty alumni officers. We also organize events and maintain active contact with alumni through, for example, the alumni magazine Broerstraat 5.
• Relationship management and data: We maintain and strengthen relationships with alumni, donors and other partners. We also manage and develop the alumni database to maintain and strengthen the connection with alumni.
• Fundraising and impact: A&F supports the Ubbo Emmius Fund (UEF), which plays a key role in raising support for education and research at the UG. We encourage contributions in various forms - from financial support to knowledge sharing and mentoring - to realize academic ambitions and increase social impact.

Our mission is to position the UG and to monitor and strengthen the university's desired image. Through communication advice and targeted support, we contribute to the implementation of the UG strategy. In word, image and deed, we work towards a preferred position for our university among relevant stakeholders.

Corporate Communication consists of the following teams:

• Strategy Team: The Strategy Team advises the Board of the University (BoU) solicited and unsolicited, acts as spokesperson on behalf of the BoU and the University Services management, and monitors the UG-wide communication strategy, in line with the UG Strategic Plan.
• Content Team: The Content Team takes care of UG-wide internal communication, science communication, corporate communication and translates UG communication policy into online and offline communication tools.
• Online Development Team: The Online Development team manages and develops the UG website and intranets. The team monitors the editorial formula and does quality control of web communication. The department also manages the editing tools for the website and intranets, such as the Apollo editor.

The International Strategy & Relations (ISR) department acts as an advisory body on policy and strategy for internationalization. We are responsible (in cooperation with our university colleagues) for developing, implementing and monitoring the UG's internationalization goals.

ISR maintains relationships with university partners and networks around the world. We are intensively involved in the application, realization and success of EU and region-specific projects.

In addition, our department coordinates UG memberships of various international consortia.
