Dutch Education Award
The Dutch Education Award is created to value, encourage and reward educational teams that achieve a special impact for students, teachers or the educational field through innovation in higher education. For the second time this year, the NRO is awarding the Dutch Education Award to three teams per sector (mbo, hbo, wo) that have delivered an outstanding or special performance with regard to innovation and/or improvement of higher education. The Dutch Education Award is the highest award awarded in Dutch government-funded higher education in recognition of – and as an impulse for – educational innovation and improvement of higher education. The highest award from the Dutch Education Award is €1.2 million, second place is €800,000 and third place is €500,000.
Each year, the University of Groningen may nominate a teaching team for this one prestigious prize. An education team has the following profile:
-
The education team consists of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10 people.
-
The education team is employed by the same Dutch-funded education institution.
-
The education team consists of members with different roles, ground lecturers, involved education director, education researchers, hybrid lecturers, PhD students, student assistants, etc.
-
The members of the education team must be able to use the available resources as a team (as far as possible) for projects that contribute to the renewal and/or improvement of higher education.
-
The special performance of the teaching team that forms the basis of the nomination is not determined in advance with this premium.
