M. Boisen, MSc, Faculty of Spatial Sciences
Martin Boisen, originally from Copenhagen, works at the Department of Human Geography & Planning. He also runs his own advisory firm, through which he has been involved in various projects at both a city and regional level. He is especially interested in perception, marketing and branding.
Martin has a strong stage presence and his enthusiastic way of explaining combined with his dramatic flair leave a clear image in every student’s mind. He is rhetorically gifted, delivering lectures that are structured, encouraging and inspiring. He encourages his students to become better and more active learners. He is always on the lookout for ways to increase student participation: he wants students not only to listen but also to pose questions, give answers and participate in discussions. During his lectures, he frequently draws on interesting professional examples from his own life, which adds significant value to his teaching. Finally, Martin has an international background, which enables him to provide examples from a wide range of sources, reflecting diverse viewpoints. This is a bonus for both Dutch and international students as it helps them to relate to their lecturer.
