Everyone at the University of Groningen (RUG), staff and students, has the right to a physically and socially safe working environment.
The RUG has a responsibility for this and sets the framework for how we interact with each other. The RUG ensures adequate protocols for a physically and socially safe working environment, including protocols for the proper handling of incidents. -
The RUG has a vision of leadership and how it is implemented for both Academic Personnel (WP) and General Administrative Staff (OBP).
The university provides adequate leadership training that can be made mandatory when supervisors are not performing adequately. Supervisors are given sufficient time to be effective leaders for their department. The role of HR as an advisor to employees and supervisors is more clearly delineated. -
Differentiation between the position of chair and the title of professor.
The title of professor should be more accessible, and the position of chair should be a defined role, with a corresponding description of duties.
