Michel Dückers
Michel Dückers

Michel Dückers, Professor by special appointment of Crises, Safety and Health / research leader of Gronings Perspectief (the Groningen perspective) research programme at the Faculty of Behavioural & Social Sciences. He also serves as programme leader for the Disasters and Environmental Threats research programme at Nivel, an organization that carries out health care research. In this capacity, he advises and supports national and local governments during calamities. Dückers specializes in mental health in crises and disaster situations and his research focuses on two areas. The first is the safety and health consequences of exposure to disasters, crises, disruptions, and other environmental threats. The second is research on how to deal with these consequences optimally from the perspective of governments, businesses, societal organizations, and citizens before, during, and after the exposure/crisis.
