Life Sciences Building
Some people call it ‘a body emerging from the ground, raising itself and thus creating an archway’, while others see it as ‘ski ramps connected by a big bridge', but impressive it is. The huge gate has created the effect of looking through the building instead of at it and according to the architect ‘the lines of the building emphasize the open space surrounding the building and not the mass of the building itself’.
The life scientists are the lucky inhabitants of this eye-catching building. The biologists, having been located in the village of Haren for many years, moved into the grass-covered building at the end of 2010.
Would you like to give this brand-new university location a closer look? You can find it at the eastern part of the Zernike Complex, just behind the bright blue Bernoulliborg.
