From red poppy to shiny beetle: how does color work?
During International Brain Awareness Week, there will be special focus on the wonders of the brain. In this video, University of Groningen biologists Jocelien Olivier and Casper van der Kooi explain how colours are produced in nature, and how our eyes and brain help us perceive colours. What is colour? How do plants and animals create colour and how do we perceive colours? And what can colour in the natural world tell us about biodiversity?
