University of the North’s third roadshow to be held at Groningen Airport Eelde

08 November 2023
Groningen Airport Eelde

The third and final roadshow of the year is coming up. On Thursday 7 December, Groningen Airport Eelde will be our host. A surprising location perhaps, considering this roadshow is dedicated to energy transition. Or is it?

Energy transition is an important topic, especially for the north of the country and definitely also for airports like Groningen Airport Eelde. It is clear, after all, that aviation needs to innovate and become more sustainable. For exactly this reason, it is a good thing they are hosting this roadshow.

Programme

Dick Pouwels, President of the Executive Board of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences, will welcome all those present on this afternoon.

After this, Meiltje de Groot, managing director of Groningen Airport Eelde, will talk about the NXT Airport programme. In this programme, knowledge institutions, governments, and companies are combining their efforts for future-proof aviation.

And finally, Jogchem Meinema, project manager of H2 Train and Learn Hub at the New Energy Coalition, will go into detail about how the UG, Hanze UAS Groningen, NHL Stenden, and the Northern vocational education institutions are collaborating on an integrated hydrogen education programme for the Northern Netherlands.

Award ceremony Booster Fund cheques, round two

Wim van de Pol, President of the Executive Board of Noorderpoort, will be awarding the cheques of the second round of the Booster Fund this afternoon.

Registration

Those who are interested can now register to take part in this roadshow! The doors open between 2.30 – 3p.m. and the event ends around 4.30 p.m. with a drinks reception.

About the University of the North

The University of the North is an initiative of the UG, UMCG, Hanze UAS Groningen, NHL Stenden UAS, Van Hall Larenstein UAS, and the Northern vocational education institutions. The knowledge institutions involved want to use the University of the North to boost broad prosperity in the Northern Netherlands as well as the transitions as formulated in the Knowledge Agenda. This is achieved through making smart use of each other’s facilities, making each other’s teaching easily accessible, forming hybrid research groups, and stimulating entrepreneurship.
