Changes to bus services during 4 Mijl van Groningen
The ‘4 Mijl van Groningen’ takes place on Sunday 14 October. Qbuzz will be running extra buses for the 23,000 runners and tens of thousands of spectators, and some services will make an extra stop at P+R Haren. Many bus services in the centre of Groningen will be diverted or cancelled. The centre will be accessible viaGroningen central station, with limited bus services to the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG).
Many roads in Groningen will be closed for the 4 Mijl. Last year, this caused major delays to bus services, and many buses on several routes were cancelled. To ensure that bus services continue to operate during this year’s 4 Mijl, many routes will be diverted or cancelled between noon and 6pm. No buses will run through the city centre to the UMCG and Oosterparkwijk, for instance. People travelling to the centre of Groningen can travel on foot or by bike from the central station. People travelling to the UMCG can take the extra Service 2 that will run from the Zernike campus to Station Noord, the UMCG and Station Europapark.
Extra Q-link 5 services Annen – Groningen
Q-link’s Service 5 runs hourly from Annen to Zuidlaren, P+R Haren and Groningen on a Sunday. Due to the 4 Mijl, this service will run twice hourly between 11am and 6pm on Sunday 14 October on the route Annen – Zuidlaren – P+R Haren – Groningen central station.
Qliner 300 from Emmen and 309 from Assen: extra stop at P+R Haren
Qliner 300 from Emmen to Borger, Gieten and Groningen and Qliner 309 from Assen to Groningen will make an extra stop at P+R Haren on Sunday 14 October. Runners can depart the bus here and walk to the start of the 4 Mijl. For the return journey, they can catch the same Qliner bus from Hoofdstation in Groningen.
