Yantai proposal discussed in committee meetings
On Thursday 24 August, meetings of various University Council committees were held. On the agenda was the application to found the University of Groningen Yantai .
The Staff Party and Lijst Calimero issued statements on Thursday morning saying that for various unspecified reasons, they did not wish to approve the application in its current form.
The Board of the University has taken note of these statements from two of the five parties in the University Council. The meeting of the Governance Committee on Thursday afternoon discussed the application at length. It was decided that the Presidium of the University Council, meeting on Tuesday 29 August, would discuss whether or not to add the application in its current form to the agenda for the meeting of the University Council on 31 August, and what shape the next steps should take.
