UG Opening Academic Year 2024 - 2025

The Opening of the 2024 - 2025 Academic Year will take place on Monday 2 September 2024. The ceremony's theme is 'Academy and Freedom.'

The programme consists of several components, including an opening speech by rector Jacquelien Scherpen, the presentation of the Alumnus of the Year Award, an academic speech and a keynote speech. In addition, the new house poet of the RUG will recite a poem, and one of the GUF-100 students will give a short talk. Afterwards, there will be a reception.
