The XR Hub is organizing on Thursday April 29 a (virtual) meeting to share knowledge and experiences about the development and use of Extended Reality applications. Extended Reality (XR) is the umbrella term for: augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), virtual reality (VR) and 3D.
Program
10:30 a.m.: Welcome and introduction
10:45 a.m.: Presentation Joep Kraeima UMCG 3D lab
Patient specific 3D Virtual planning and patient specific implants lead to improved accuracy and time saving during surgery. By application of a in Groningen developed AR solution, using the Hololens and surgical navigation, these improvements are even stronger. A presentation of the first validation and planned clinical application.
11:10 a.m.: Presentation Catheleine van Driel UMCG Psychiatry
Stress-resilience is important in many settings. For example, to ensure durable employability of healthcare professionals, or to improve the outcome of psychiatric disease by decreasing the vulnerability to daily stressors that could otherwise cause a relapse. A VR stress-resilience intervention, named Building Bounce Back (BBB), is being developed, consisting of a stress-inducing VR scenario, in which users learn to apply stress-management techniques and control their stress response.
