Interdisciplinary Education

CoP Interdisciplinary Education

In this community of practice, we bring together lecturers to engage in dialogue about innovative practices in interdisciplinary teaching to get inspired, learn from each other, and further improve the quality of our interdisciplinary teaching. We want to promote collaborations, explore new possibilities, and take new initiatives in interdisciplinary teaching.

We build on existing connections across disciplines in research, expand on them in education and optimize visibility to our own community of lecturers and to our students by displaying interdisciplinary research and its rationale as well as methods.

As a community, we connect to the four schools (Aletta Jacobs School, Jantina Tammes School, Wubbo Ockels School and Rudolf Agricola School) that focus on interdisciplinary research and teaching as well as the ENLIGHT network.

Within the wider CoP IE,  the CoP has some special interest groups or themes:

  • Interdisciplinary Minors

  • Learning Communities

  • Challenge Based Education

  • Connection between interdisciplinary education and interdisciplinary research

Another important pillar is to provide information about possibilities for funding (grants, programmes) for developing interdisciplinary education, in collaboration with TAG Grants support.

During the Education Festival 2023 the CoP has presented two online sessions. You can watch them via the links below:
